I drove past the FlipFit sign and thought let’s give this a try! I spoke with Steve, who is extremely personable, and a fantastic PT. Steve suggested I take up a trial. So, I did! Halfway through my first free session, I knew I was coming back and joining up as a member.

I LOVE FlipFit. Yes, for the exercise. It’s not like a gym, where you just do your thing on the treadmill. As a professional Steve straight away knew my abilities before I did and encouraged me to try heavier weights and different exercises and make sure my technique is right.

I get the fresh air and to my surprise, when it rains or even hails I want to go so I can say, “I just worked out in the pouring rain and it was brilliant”.

I have made friends, who encourage and support me when I get tired and need that extra push. We have fun. Every session is always different! Different workouts. So much more than lifting heavy weights.

It’s my hour, my hour of sanity. My hour to be me, my hour to push the dial on strength I didn’t know I had. It’s my hour of laughter with fantastic people. Its flipping amazing! Its FlipFit.

I found FlipFit about 18 months ago. I’d quite recently moved from living abroad and I was looking for a way to exercise and interact with new people at the same time.  By the end of my very first session, I felt like I’d done a really decent workout and I’d laughed so much my stomach muscles were sore! It was so invigorating being outside in the fresh air too. I was hooked!

Steve, our trainer brings his own unique style of training to FlipFit.  The exercises are tailored for all fitness levels and I have really noticed an improvement to my physique and overall fitness. However, although extremely effective, the emphasis is on fun! The humour, and banter between everyone, often led by Steve, means there’s never a dull moment.

I have introduced a number of people to FlipFit and part way through the sessions they have always commented ‘This is so fun!’ I can honestly say FlipFit has improved my life.

My life changed in many ways in 2020. Raising a family, I had always struggled with my weight and minor health conditions, but the first Covid lockdown not only brought the mental struggles we all went through but also the diagnosis of congenital heart disease, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis of the facet joints in my back. It was time I had to focus on taking care of myself and my physical health, and make lifestyle changes that I could maintain. Three stone over a healthy weight range, the constant different diets I tried over the years were achieving nothing. My problem was that I had used indoor gyms before and never felt I fitted in, and I struggled with the exercise options that were available. That lifestyle change could not have felt further away. And then in September 2020 I found out about a company called FlipFit. I had pretty much given up but the fact it was outdoors appealed, and I decided to give the dream of a healthier Allison one more try. That decision changed my life. From the very first session Steve and the rest of the FlipFit family made me feel right at home, and Steve knew how to encourage and motivate me, showing how small changes to my lifestyle and diet were more effective, and I have never looked back. It is challenging and very hard work, and there are times I want to throw something at Steve, but I love the sessions and Steve’s instruction and support have not only made me achieve my health targets but have also brought my self esteem back and turned me back into the Allison I used to be. And whilst everyone at FlipFit laughs at my ultra competitive streak (I do my utmost to make sure the girls beat the boys EVERY time), FlitFit has taught me that fitness is not about being better and healthier than someone else, its all about being better and healthier than you used to be. THANK YOU FLIPFIT!!!

FlipFit has become very addictive for me once I passed worrying about the weather! Different exercises, weights and team games makes the hour go very quickly. I’ve fitter than I’ve ever been.

Steve manages to cater for all. Whilst giving you a good full body workout, he helps you train harder than you thought you could (if that’s what you’re after!).

Time flies at a FlipFit session, and I always look forward to my next one.

Since training at FlipFit, I have lost just over 2 stone and kept it off with no adjustment to my food. Purely exercise.

I have never ever been committed to any form of exercise, but FlipFit is addictive. It’s fun, very social, and well structured. Everyday there is a new set of exercises and games. So much support from your fellow teammates. Most importantly the instructor Steve is very professional, knowledgeable, and so funny keeping all training sessions enjoyable yet challenging.

I’ve always wanted to be one of those people that are addicted to fitness, I also knew that would never happen to me through a traditional gym. In 2022 I found FlipFit, which has proven to be a transformative experience to say the least. This fitness community has helped me to become stronger, fitter, and happier in the process.

I love that it’s outdoors, regardless of the weather. FlipFit’s community of like-minded people, sense of camaraderie and fun, makes every workout session enjoyable. Steve, the founder of FlipFit, is a welcoming and supportive leader, providing encouragement every step of the way. Thanks to FlipFit, I have not only become addicted to fitness but have also discovered a newfound passion for a healthier and happier lifestyle.

What I love about FlipFit, and keeps bringing me back, is that it’s outdoors all year round, no matter what the weather. I’ve tried many gyms and classes all of which I’ve enjoyed but I’d much rather be outdoors.

The environment Steve provides allows flexibility enabling me to balance work & home life. There’s no judgement from Steve or anyone else on how hard/easy you want to take a session which makes it a very inclusive environment. He really challenges us all, no matter what level of fitness we are.

In 2019 – I was in a bad way.

I was depressed. I suffered from anxiety. I was lost. Smoking too much weed to mask my depression… and was simply living in an environment that wasn’t right for me…

After accepting that things were not going to change on their own- I decided to take on therapy. Through that, I learnt a lot about myself… understanding that I suffered some serious childhood trauma that I had been masking my entire adult life. I was also diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia.

It was through the work I did with my therapist that I was encouraged to join a fitness group to release some of the energy that I had inside me and to get my head straight. She thought that some structure and routine would do me good so I would schedule my fitness classes to occur immediately after a therapy session…and off I went.

When I joined FlipFit I was no more than 9 1/2 stone/ 60kg’s. Basically, pure bones and no strength.

As much as I hate sharing these pictures, I think it’s important for you to understand the journey i have been on.  You can see from my pictures above that not only did my body barely have anything on it but also my face & eyes looked completely sunken & hollow. I desparately needed something to change and reset me.

From the beginning of FlipFit journey, I immediately felt like I had walked into a safe space where I was able to build incredibly strong bonds with members of the group – they were instrumental in my journey.

They became my ‘chosen family’.

After unraveling all the childhood trauma of not having this safe space growing up and being judged and criticized constantly – being in this healthy environment where I was cheered on, encouraged and motivated by my team members – I really felt I was able to truly be myself and they brought out the best version of me when I was around them.

FlipFit wasn’t just a fitness group to me. It didn’t matter whether there was rain, hail, snow or a storm- I was going to show up. Not just for me – but because I knew how I felt after being around the positive energy of the group and I wanted to show up for them like they always showed up for me.

Over time, the stats started to show … I was getting stronger. I was feeling fitter. I was emotionally & mentally healthier and through the encouragement of my friends in the group – Including Steve – my confidence also grew so much.

Steve has been a huge part in getting me to Where I am today- he’s not just my fitness coach- he’s my friend. He’s my confidant and he’s someone I look up to everyday. I really couldn’t have asked for a more supportive network of people around me- especially at the start of my journey – but also still today (5 years on!)

As I look back now, all I can think of is how grateful I am to have this group in my life. I am probably in better shape than I ever thought I could be in. I’m in such a good headspace and can honestly say I am so proud of myself. I look in the mirror now – and I am able to tell myself that I love myself. And that’s saying a lot because it’s taken a huge part of my life to finally get there.

I’ve felt it’s important for me to share this journey with everyone because I want to say to those that are suffering in silence that it’s ok to not be ok.

Mental health is a thing and it’s a horrible thing to ever have to experience alone. Structure, discipline, support, and movement are things that truly do work to help get someone dealing with any struggles & out of a rut.

I am Philip blower. I am 43 years old.

I can loudly and proudly say – I am SO happy with where I am at… with who I am and what I have achieved.

I not only found love within myself, but also with life. I have met my forever person who makes me feel everything I’ve ever wanted to feel when in a loving relationship and most importantly- I have the mental and physical strength to allow me the confidence to do everything I set out to do.

FlipFit is so much more than a fitness group. It’s my family… and it saved my life.

I happened upon Steve’s fitness provision when he was conducting a session in the park. Everyone seemed to be having such a good time and it looked different to any other outdoor fitness I had ever seen, so I was intrigued to get in touch and give it a go.

I initially wanted to sign up for PT (personal training) as I was overweight, and I also knew I was unfit. I did not know what to expect, having never done PT before, but from the outset Steve put me at ease and gave me clear guidance on what our goals should be.

I absolutely loved the sessions, each one being unique and tailored to my capabilities and progression goals. Most of all, they were such fun!

Within a few weeks the weight really started to drop off. I felt amazing and it had a huge effect on my mental health and confidence.

The benefits were so brilliant both physically and mentally I decided to increase the number of PT sessions a week and make it a permanent part of my routine.

By the end of my first year, I had lost over three stone in weight, my body shape had completely been transformed and most importantly I was the fittest I had ever been.

Now, four years on, I still absolutely look forward to and enjoy every session. I am still progressing and learning new, challenging exercises. I would never have thought that at the ripe old age of 49 it would be possible to achieve this level of fitness- it just goes to show that it really is never too late!

FlipFit and my PT sessions are a permanent part of my weekly routine and life. It provides me with an essential structure and has had a positive effect on all other aspects of my life. I would be lost without it and just wish I had found it sooner!

I have been coming to FlipFit sessions for almost 8 months now, once or twice a week. I never know exactly what to expect, as each and every one is different.

Steve uses all his previous fitness experiences and unique sense of humour, to design sessions that are the perfect balance of hard work and fun! I have never enjoyed getting fit so much, even in the depths of winter.

To tackle the two main enemies of the home worker – inactivity and loneliness – I joined FlipFit. I’ve always loved team sports and exercise, but I find gyms monotonous and dull. Well-coached circuit training combines cardio and resistance training with cooperative activities and team challenges. Anyone can exercise on their own, but the variety and the camaraderie of circuit training keeps me coming back.

Most importantly, I have been blown away by how welcoming and friendly my classmates have been. There was no reason for me to have been concerned about the clique, or an insider/outsider mentality. All I found was local people of all ages and levels of fitness who want to get together before work and run around for an hour. They also host occasional social nights and community engagement events. Six months on, I could not be happier to have taken the decision to get out and find my tribe – even as the mornings turn dark and cold.

Where can I start with FlipFit, for a guy who keeps reasonably fit- I’ve been a runner, I’ve been a gym member (multiple times), FlipFit is the one I have stuck to and attended classes religiously for over 2 years.

Why? It is not a gym, you’re not surrounded by concrete walls, equipment you have to wait to get on etc, – it is in the great outdoors no matter the weather and until you have really been exposed to it, you cannot appreciate how great it is – even in the rain or snow.

Steve (who runs the sessions) is phenomenal, every class is different, the variety of equipment is amazing (everything you can get in a gym but more) and he is always willing to guide you on each piece of equipment to ensure you get maximum benefit.

Your fellow FlipFitters are a great bunch, a real family vibe. Everyone attends to gain an extra level of fitness, but it is done in the best environment – encouragement, laughs, jokes, team games, FlipFit has it all.

FlipFit is literally for everyone no matter your current level and I promise you will love it as much as I do.

I started with FlipFit 3 years ago. I was 57 at the time and before this I was attending an indoor gym and used to turn up to train for 40 mins then leave, but I had no motivation or actually any idea  about what I was doing, not to mention the intimidation  side of muscle men training and taken over 2 machines at a time!  Then one of my clients mentioned FlipFit and I turned up to try an outdoor wor out and was hooked –  3 years later I am still enjoying it . It’s a big part of my day-to-day life now. I lost a stone, got in shape with the motivation of Steve which I so needed in life and the plus side all the other gym members helping and motivating each other. I’ve been through a very difficult couple of years and without FlipFit, I don’t know where I be.

It’s been my rock; I turn up and forget about everything for the hour and leave feeling very positive about life and happy. There are not enough words to describe my experience with FlipFit. And never met anyone like Steve for his dedication, commitment, motivation and always smiling and he’s great at passing that attitude to all his gym members and he get you to believe in yourself when you’re doing a run for example. I could go on and on: He does sing a good song though!

Sessions with FlipFit have literally changed my life.

I can’t make it through the week as happily and as successfully, feeling good from the inside, without my regular classes! Exercises are interesting, fun, even exciting at times! With the bonus of being beside a group of very encouraging people beside you as you exercise, led by an incredible coach.

Each session is so varied and Steve’s imagination for setting up a session is sports’ creativity at its best.

Coming to classes has had so many benefits for me other than just improved strength and fitness. You will find the work you put into your session stays with you for the rest of your day, perhaps week … You will find, you feel motivated and strong both physically and mentally for the other areas of life.

I’ve be coming to FlipFit for more than a year. I work from home and block out 90 minutes every day to attend the 10am session and I love it. I’ve never been fitter and doing so much regular exercise makes be more productive at my work and provides an important structure to my day.

I’ve tried gyms but tend to spend more time in the sauna and steam room than working out! Flipfit is a full-on hour of exercise which just goes so fast. The feeling you get afterwards is so rewarding and refreshes your attitude to the rest of the day.

I am lucky enough to attend with my wife and it’s an important and positive part of our lives together and provides a great social community to laugh and socialise with.

As a solopreneur, the team-games and social interaction have been surprisingly fun for me – stimulating and competitive. I also really enjoy the other members pushing and encouraging me not to mention the occasional compliment I receive on my achievements – it’s such a positive environment.
