Often the gym experience for many isn’t great and involves using complex equipment that forces the body to train through one plane, takes time to set up or you can’t get onto it! Well at FLIPFIT all of the sessions are timetabled and structured to accommodate anyone who has booked a place. The sessions are designed so that everyone has their own piece of equipment, and has a clear understanding of how the session will run.

The use of functional training is key to help improve fitness, movement, balance, coordination, agility, strength, speed and stamina. These attributes are fundamental to understanding how to get your body to work for you, utilising all patterns of movement, both in everyday life and when the body is under physical stress, such as in a fitness session. FLIPFIT uses proven training methods & specially chosen equipment as well as your own body weight in a combination of either MIIT (Moderate Intensity Interval Training) or HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).

FLIPFITTERS are coached and guided throughout all of the sessions, and sessions are designed to allow all levels of ability to workout at the same time. Overlay this with a big dose of fun, energy, enthusiasm, a positive mindset that everyone is welcome & able to achieve – and you have yourself an effective, energising & fun fitness provision.

Group fitness has demonstrated its success in building exercise adherence…in a nutshell, you are more likely to continue your regime and make exercise a part of your life if you have people around you to work out with.

All the sessions will draw upon the combined experience gained over many years from the fitness industry, high-Performance sport, the military, and education & are programmed to work the ‘whole body’. Each session will use a mixture of equipment, & your own body weight to achieve this.

Training outside is not only good for your body, but is also good for your mind, and can help give you the benefits of: helping you take time out, improving your mood, reduce feelings of stress & anger, revitalise you, reduce tension, help you connect with others, boost your concentration, help you sleep, engage and appreciate the outdoors and all that if offers.

AEROBIC EXERCISE

You will probably come across exercises that you have done before but many that may be new to you.

The sessions will improve your strength, improve flexibility, coordination, balance, agility and improve your “aerobic ability”, which means your ability to breathe air in and use oxygen for useful work by the body.

This trains your heart and lungs to be more efficient and brings a multitude of other health benefits that we now know help combat some of the major diseases of the 21st Century.

This type of exercise is often referred to by many as doing cardio and it’s often taken to be the sole measure of how fit you are.

ANAEROBIC FITNESS

Anaerobic exercise consists of brief intense bursts of physical activity, such as lifting weights and sprints, where oxygen demand surpasses oxygen supply.

While aerobic exercise relies on oxygen, anaerobic exercise is fuelled by energy stored in your muscles.

Typically this involves your ability to move resistance, this could be your own body or any other resistance, for example, a weight bag, kettlebell, battle rope, and this will improve your strength.

It can also involve testing your speed and power, a principle utilised in the ever-popular HIIT (High Intensity Interval training) regimes.

These are short bursts of anaerobic work which has been proved as a fast track to fitness.

The sessions are designed to work well with groups and the individual as each person has their own station and piece of equipment to use, and are always guided by the instructor.
